My friend?s dad is looking for a receiver that can power something like 8 speakers in 2 different zones. I told him that I would get some info for him on them. And I know you guys know everything so I thought id ask. He?s not looking to spend a fortune and it doesn?t have to have a huge amount of power. Just something that can do 2 zones basically. I can wire the speakers so it?ll work

 
how much does that cost

EDIT: I just googled that and its about 2-3x what he wants to pay for something.

he wants to keep it under 500$ hopefully less
 
the new yammies are coming out soon so, i would go tell your friends father to wait for one of those. i believe the rx-v1400 will run around 500 bucks on the internet. these new recievers will have some very nice features and also have a built in auto calibration tool that is similar to pioneers macc. definitly a bargin imo.
