I came home from work and my home AC unit wasn't running but still turned on. I tried the heat and fan to see if they worked but neither one did. There is power to the unit.
I'd like to jump the thermostat connections on the unit to eliminate that as a possibility but I don't remember which of the 4 wires to jump. Anyone know?

I can find references to the stat but no pics or manuals.

Well, one of those wires ought to have 24VAC to it (Red). I imagine that one, connected to any of the other three, ought to start the burner (White), A/C compressor (Yellow) or fan (Green). I'm going by these terminal designations.

It also says there's a toll free technical service number printed on the back of the plate. Check for that.

i'd just go down to the furnace and look at the connections from the thermostat to the computer, see if you can see anything going on there.

Thanks, on another forum I found the correct wires to jump (R and Y), the thermo is OK. I also found out there is a fuse buried in the AC unit itself and it is blown out. :) Wife just went down to get another one, hopefully that will do it.

Oh, you're trying to get the A/C on, eh? I pictured you and your wife shivering from the cold. We're at 50 degrees here. If the A/C is shut off and started again too soon, I think that could blow the fuse. Hope that's all it is. Good luck!
