Home A/V Computer Streaming DVDs over LAN

Anyone know of a good way to stream DVDs over a LAN?

Can you poll the full desktop of the remote computer?

What I'm trying to do is figrue out a system to play a DVD in a computer in another room and have it show up on my TV (via another computer on 100BT ethernet).

Any suggestions?

That QCast thing only helps if you want to play DIVX movies.

If you have a PS2, then the PS2 would serve as a DVD player in that case, so there would be no need to stream the data from the PC.

The easiest way is to rip the entire DVD to a folder then mount the folder as a network drive on the other computer.

I know that, which is why I said I didn't know about DVDs and presented QCast as an interesting alternative.
