I think that those who are labled "holyrollers" usually deserve the term. As a born again Christian myself, I do enjoy playing all sorts of games (and I watch Harry Potter!). I don't think anyone is evil for playing any of these games.
There are, however, dangers inherit in almost everything we do. As someone who slaughters thousands of people every day (long live Rome: total war and UT2K4) I acknowledge the violence I am exposing myself to. I absolutly LOVE to frag, but I accept that I cannot do these acts in real life, that they would have grave consequences if I did. There were (and are) a large number of young people who took D&D and other games very seriously and this caused problems in their views of the world and the actions they took. Thats why makers put warnings or age limits, some minds are too young for certain things.
Now this does not mean I am against anyone under the age of 13 watching a PG-13 movie or playing a 'T' rated game. I believe it depends on the person, not the age. There are plently of younger people out there more mature than I am and visa versa. I think people (and parents specifically) need to take into account not only the content of what there kids are exposed to, but also their childs maturity. Now this is coming from a young married man with no kids, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Back to the original topic... Holyrollers are people that I both respect and despise. I respect that they are (usually) so convicted that they have no fear about sharing their views with others. This is what the Bible calls us to do, be completely convicted in our knoweledge of God as well as our role as missionaries to the world. I despise them because often share their convictions in an intrusive and unproductive way. The Bible states to act as an example to people and not to judge others. We are to be a 'light' unto others. Last time I checked, personal attacks, insults, and even reading others emails are not the best way to show God's love.
sorry for the long post, but I thought maybe a Christian gamers point of view should be heard.
