Kenazo

Lifer
woman has 176 pound tumor removed, now weighs in at 88lbs. I'll try and find a pic.

another fine Fark swipe

Found out it's a repost, someone decided to spell it "Tumah" and thus, I never came across it when I searched. Sorry if you're disapointed. 🙂

I.... wouldn't hit it :Q

I saw a documentary on the discovery channel (Discovery Health, iirc) on a (different) woman with a similar tumor and the operation to remove it. Fascinating. And yeah what the hell is the thought process...? "It's only 100 pounds, maybe it'll be gone tomorrow"...

I'd hit it with gamma rays until it was crispy and dead.

GAH TAKE IT DOWN BOOOO!

lol at what point do you wake up and go "hmm, I guess it's time to do something about this thing."

Thats what I wonder. I don't see any reason to let it grow THAT big. I think she should have tried to get it removed when she noticed it. Not let it get to the size of a hippo.

Ms Bunghez, whose normal body weight without the 12 stone tumour is just under seven stone, suffers from the rare genetic disease Von Recklinghausen's Disease.

Holy crap!!!! That tumor is 5 stones more than she weighs!

Wow that is a biggie... saw a similar case where the woman had the operation & it was removed successfully. I recall it is a *very* fast-growing tumor and she had a lot of trouble finding a doctor to operate on it when it was much smaller, and of couse as the time lapsed it was pretty much impossible to find a willing surgeon. That's pretty much how they get that big before you see them in the news.

I saw a story like that about a guy in India. The tumor turned out to be his parasitic twin. It was mostly human but no skull or brain tissues was found.
