Holy, too good to be true?

Should I snag this up before I won't be able to again?!
Even though it's purple-ish looking, it's a great sounding deal.
Too bad I can't actually hear what it sounds like. 🙁

Your thoughts?

At first, one might think it's a pricing error, but then considering the horrendous color, they could just be trying to move them 🙂

QFT. I don't know much about guitars, is that one special in some way? (I'm a pianist)

EDIT: So I don't mislead any of you, I'm not a professional pianist, I want to be, but I'm not yet.

Well, the bridge it has generally costs about as much as the guitar itself.
I could overlook the color.

Floyd Rose bridge's are a PITA IMO

That's not a bad price, they had a deal for the "normal" colors on those guitars for $250 a month back. Even though it is squier, you sometimes luck out and get a good one. Check out harmonycentral user reviews and see what it says.

I've never played a really nice Squier. Most of the ones I've encountered don't even want to stay in tune. I'm sure there's good ones out there, though, and I think you have a 30/45 day satisfaction guarantee with Musician's Friend, so if it turned out to be one of the bad ones you could return/exchange it.

I don't know about the Squire version but my Fender Showmaster SSS is a damn nice guitar. I got it from a local shop for $375 out the door. He had ordered several of them so that he could get a certain wallmounted display case and he really couldn't afford to keep them around (it's a very small but good shop). My daughter has been taking lessons there for over a year so I made an offer and he took it.

The guitar is very nice, very slim neck with great action. Stays in tune very well. The Seymor Duncans sound sweet through my 75w Line6 Spider II 112. Very good tone and crunches amazingly well for three singles.

If you don't like the color, you can always mod it like people do with computer cases. Color it rainbow colors, poke a hole and put in 2 120mm fans, fan controller, plexiglass, some leds or cold cathodes, etc. 😀.

If you want a good cheap guitar I recommend the Godin SD. It's a little more money, but a lot more guitar than that squire.

It has one humbucker and two single coils, so not quite the same as the squire, but that purple thing is ass ugly. Looks like a Prince guitar.

Squires pretty much suck. I have a Squire which is not the basic Stat or Tele clone. It was from when the bought DeArmonds and turned their inventory into Squires. All the electronics, tuners, pickups, etc sucked and I replaced everything but the tuners (which suck and never stay in tune).

The one every has been getting the last couple of months is the Squire '51 which supposedly has a really good neck pickup. For $50 cheaper it's probably a better guitar than the purple thing.

Yeah, Squire's are usually POS guitars. Cheaply made, poor tuners, and the necks tend to warp due to cheap materials. It's an entry level guitar and $199 is about the right price...once in a while Guitar Center will have Squires for as low as $99.

I'm a bassist, so you can take my opinions with a grain of salt! I think anything Squier isn't worth the money. check outhere. I know after reading tons of reviews on talkbass.com that people were quite pleasantly suprised with the quality of SX and Brice basses. They are made in Korea, and are actually quite good for the money. They play crappy right out of the box, but a new set of strings and a proper setup makes them quite good! I also agree that the Gibson Epiphones are quite a bit better than the Squier products... but you need to play them. The build quality varies pretty dramatically. I have 4 basses... 2 peaveys, an Ibanez and an Alembic. There is nothing like the sound, feel and look of a higher end instrument, but some of the cheap ones can come REALLY close with the right strings and a good setup job!

Hmmm...

What do you guys think about this package?

I'm thinking about starting up, but would like a guitar that I could stick with for a while. I'll probably stop by a Guitarcenter store after work today, but I'm looking at that particular package.

Or, should I get this. Since you guys are saying thats a good brand.

Last choice is this one from costco. I dunno much more about it since I can't find another site that sells it.

Oct 18, 2005 - This guitar is the worst guitar I have ever played. the guitar isn't all made of wood, half the guitar is made of some type of metal. The guitar sounds like crap, and the strings are hard as hell to play on. It was my first guitar, but it dont sound good at all. It is by far the worst guitar I have ever played, My Johnson guitar that I got from my friend, sounds better than this. And he got his johnson for money. And man that johnson is Gibson Quality compared to this guitar.

Anyway, I'm still recommending the Godin SD. You won't regret it.

First off, that is a horrible guitar.

SEcond..that is NOT a deal. Here is a much better looking one for $20 more..and it's only $20 more because they can't buy as many as MF

Better POS

Scroll down to fine the Black Skull/Crossbones Squire Showmaster HH for $219.

Cliffs

-don't buy that POS unless you want to suck hardcore and cut your hands up
-If you are going to buy a junk pile of useless guitar, spend $20 more and get it in a cool color
-it's not a deal and this is typical retail price for that guitar

Goddamn it!
I want a ****** showmaster!! >_<;;

Thanks for the replies everyone, I think I'll let this one go....

I've had no problems with my Squire Strat. It stays in tune beautifully.

But it is merely an entry level guitar.

My Daughter has the
My Daughter's Epi SG

Another EpiSG pic (Remember....this is my Daughter's)
It's a very nice sounding guitar and stays in tune very well. Very solid with neckthrough desing. It's the perfect starter guitar because it will actually be a decent guitar when she get's better. Right now she's playing some Green Day stuff very well.
