Mom calls me and tells me they raised the school taxes (again) this year... by another $800... totalling her annual property taxes to be $9800... yes per year. I live in the next town over and don't pay half that... WTF is wrong with this picture ?! This is the size of her house/property... is this wack or what ?

that's why CA passed prop 13--it limits the amount that property taxes can be raised each year.

In NYC real property taxes got jacked up 18.5% this year too.

Its freaking crazy, but whaddya gonna do ?
