damn I just got back to my home country, and checked my dad's computer. That thing has about 100-ish spyware, and a couple of viruses already..

You just got back to your "home country?" Are you not in the US? Interesting. I hear that overseas spyware is much more difficult to get rid of than domestic spyware is. 😉 Good luck.

send him to the thread in my sig, btw, i have found over 3500 pieces of viruses and spyware on PCs before, had to bring them back from the dead, but was able to avoid format (computers at school, never let mine get bad, google image search instead of going to the websites)

Do I have to keep SpywareBlaster running for it to provide protection?

SpywareBlaster does not need to remain running to provide protection.

After you enable protection for all items, you can exit the program and you will still be protected.

But don't forget to run SpywareBlaster at least once a week to download the latest updates and enable protection for them!

After 4 months of being away, my parents computer had over 1000 spyware/adware on the computer. Now that is a lot.

Where have you been? People have already posted horror stories of 1000's of each on a single computer.
Regardless, have fun cleaning them all out. Shouldn't be too bad - I just wiped out about 200 spyware "incidents" on the kids' computer today.
