Holy smokes, my mom's laptop won't charge anymore!

My mom has an Acer Travelmate 2410, and about 20 minutes ago I noticed it was running on battery.

I checked the cord, the light was on so the cord had power.. but the laptop was not charging.

Removed the battery, the computer wouldn't turn on at all (even with the cord plugged in).

I didn't see anything visibly wrong, the computer had been left on all night charging..

Any ideas what it could be?

check the DC in port of the laptop. Wiggle the plug a little to see if the charge light come up. RMA if the laptop is under warranty.
