<< signs & symptoms >>

Well, I'm hurting. I'm sure thats a sign of some kind :)

Hmm, on Monday night I was at a bar and doing a lot of dancing. On Tuesday night I was playing football in the snow. I was not hit at all while playing, but it was quite slippery and hard to pick up speed and run. My legs were sort of stiff that night, but the back was fine. On wednesday, I did nothing physical and I felt fine last night. I woke up today at about 9am with a stiff back but it didnt hurt. Now at 7pm, I'm in agony.

Btw, by pillow sucks nuts. Its like 1" thick and doesnt support anything. My matress is pretty good. (sealy posturepedic. sucks because there is no boxspring under it. its right on the floor)

When you bend forward with your knees straight, does that increase, decrease, or no change with regards to pain? Do the same with bending backwards. Is the pain localized to your low back, if so, right or left side? Is pain into your butt or down your leg?

With my knees together, bending back, left and right, I feel no pain. When bending forward, the part that hurts feels like its being stretched and feels kinda good.

The pain seems to be on the right side, near the middle of my back. I dont think its my lower back because I've hurt that before in hockey. This feels nothing like it did when I hurt my lower back.

Also, I just noticed that if I twist my body (like I do when warming up in hockey), I feel pain.

You should never do that twisting motion as a warm-up or for any other reason. It puts a lot of undo stress on the Lumbar spine(low back). The lumbar vertebrae are designed to only bend for flexion and extension. Any twisting motion here occurs by shearing forces(not good).

Sounds like muscle strain only, which is good. Use moist heat on the area. Also, lay on your back with knees bent, pull knees(both) to chest, hold for 5 secs, do 10 at a time, several times a day.
