The movie itself was decent enough, but my god did this movie sound killer on my 5.1 system at home. I swear, my sub shook the walls for like 1/2 of the movie. The music was incredible as well. The video was crystal clear too. I'm gonna watch the movie again just cuz that's what home theater is all about.

BTW, my setup is:

Ascend Acoustic fronts and center
Klipsch Quintet surrounds
KLH sub (I'll prob. upgrade this at some point when I have $)
55" Philips HDTV
Pioneer VSX-811 Receiver
Toshiba DVD Player (tho' not progressive scan, but who cares)

I own the Matrix on DVD (what DVD owner doesn't? :) ), but I think this has it beat. While I love watching the lobby shooting spree in the Matrix, the whole SW Ep. II movie just rocks audio-wise. I know I read that this apparently was the first movie that had a digital to digital transfer to DVD, and I guess it shows.

The value of your system has been reduced just by having that craptastic movie played through it.

Otherwise, awesome system. Home theater is great.

Heh, I was planning on watching the movie again before I have to return it. Maybe I'll just play it with the TV off...

The music in Episode II might sound good, but a large portion of it is just Episode I's score rehashed. Say what you will about the movie itself, but as a huge film score fan, I find the absolutely poor music editing unforgivable. :(

That said, I'd sure like to hear the seismic charges/asteroid sequence on your system. That must rock da' house! :)

SW EPII is pretty good, but I LOVE LOTR:FOTR on my system. It actually uses DTS:ES, the only 6.1 discrete format out there.

The separation is amazing and it rocks my house too. :D

My friend has the DVD. I'll need to borrow it.

Actually, I was trying to find out what are the best movies to watch purely for the home theater experience. I guess I should just start up a thread on it.

Please do, I've got some suggestions but I'd like to see what other people say too. :)
