2 offramps later another 5 o sitting under an underpass Ka band...brake, guy by me flies by and gets pulled over. Score 2.

I then merge onto the next freeway and I've got the cop spots memorized so I just slow down where the cops are. This one doens't really count as the cop had its lights on and already pulled someone over but detector caught him anyways. Score 3.

Off the highway on a 3 lane road with a speed limit of 45. I'm following a motorcycle doing about 65 and he gets off so now I've got no protection. I come up over this hill that always has a cop at the other end so I'm watching. I'm sitting there looking for a cop and Ka band goes off, brake, jeep behind me flies by and gets pulled over. This was a speed trap because a little further ahead there were 2 cops with 2 cars pulled over. Score 4.

Total cops in 45 minute drive home: 6, total with radar or laser who were looking for speeders that radar detector saved me from: 4.

Why don't you just drive the speed limit. You won't have to worry about all that. what's an extra 2 seconds, is it really worth risking all that money.

So by speeding and taking the off ramp just to get back on, how much time did that save you versus going the speed limit?

None, but I think I speed more because I'm really impatient and it feels really slow going the speed limit than to try and save time. 65 feels sssoo slow when there's no one in front of you.

I actually memorize light timings just so I know I have to go a certain speed to hit certain lights. If someone accelerates off the line slower I know when I'm not going to make the next light. It's more an issue of being really impatient.

Please tell me this is a parody thread of some kind. If not, you are risking your life driving like that.

Keep driving like an asshat like that though, it will make the roads that much safer for the rest of us. One of these days you will time that light just perfect, fly through the intersection doing 20mph over the speed limit, and the cement truck that was doing 15 over the limit and couldnt stop will put an end to your great driving skills. The good news is that radar detectors are pretty tough, so that should survive. You on the other hand.....

I like how people think it's such a threat to exceed the speed limit. At what point is the risk worth it? Let's say people spend 100,000 hours speeding with 5 accidents and people spend 100,000 hours not speeding with 3 accidents. 2 Fatal in 1 case, 1 fatal in the case of speed limit driving. There's a risk of dying everytime you get in your car. That doesn't mean you don't drive does it?

Given the .000002% more chance i might die by going faster I'll take my chances. The statistic people see, however is "SPEEDING CAUSES 50% MORE FATAL CRASHES THAN NOT SPEEDING"

where exactly did you get your figures from?

Like I said, keep driving the way you do. It will free up room on the road for the rest of us. Just dont post a thread about fighting a speeding ticket, wrecking your car, or being paralzyed from the head down just because you knew how to time the lights.

On a sidenote: at what age do you earn the right to own the road? Apparently at some age you get to drive at whatever speed you want, the lane markings dont apply to you anymore, and you dont even have to look behind you before backing up.

Those were make believe figures to prove a point. The point being at what point is the risk too great for you? You seem to think speeding is going to get me or someone killed. My point is that driving can get you killed as well yet it's acceptable to you. Is the .00001% chance that you might get more hurt speeding worth not speeding is all I'm saying.

I never said I owned the road. I just think that when it's late at night and no one else is on the road driving the speed limit is pointless.
