Just got my new Chaintech NFORCE3 250 board running an Athlon 64 2800+ 1.8 (newcastle) I've got 512 mb of ram in it..

I need you guys help....

What's Speedfans temp3 setting pointing two? VGA chipset? God help me if it's my processor?

Any of you guys with an NForce3 250 know wtf would be running that hot in Speedfan.. I checked the bios and my proc is at 42 C with stock heatsink. Case was a cool 27 C.

yah I kinda figured..

Temp3 on my K7S5A is the cpu temp.. On this board, it's Temp1.

I'm still trying to figure out wtf could possibly be running that hot. CPU temp is stable at 35C idle.

i have a vnf3-250, but its not installed yet, i read that there was a problem with temp monitor in some of the older bioses but that doesnt seem to be your problem, try a different program. MBM maybe

Try Everest? I haven't used it, but it's supposed to work in some situations that Sandra and MBM5 won't.

Also, there's a fair chance that, on your board, Temp3 is hooked up to *nothing*, and you're just getting random (and exceedingly high) voltage readings from the floating gate output.

Try using the program that came with the board,it's on the cd that came with the motherboard.
