Holy Poopy! Just got back from seeing the Trans Siberian Orchestra!

The Trans Siberian Orchestra is awesome. I saw them at Madison Square Garden.

they rock. real hard. better than ninjas. it's the best concert i've never paid for.

friend got me free tickets through a 95.5 PLJ giveaway. PLJ said to look for the Party Patrol van which was supposed to be on the 7th ave side of MSG. I looked for 30 minutes and found no van. I found another PLJ winner and together we talked to the people that work for the band. After some more searching, we STILL found no van... so the awesome staff GAVE US THEIR TICKETS, AND THEY HAD AWESOME SEATS! we sat like.... 15 rows from the stage!!!

the first half kinda sucked. It was all slow, bland, generic christmas music they wrote... but it's as if they made a half-assed attempt at it. It's like they wrote fluff to fill in the gaps between the KICK-ASS guitar solos

i was seriously considering leaving after the first half... but boy am i glad i stayed.

THEY COMPLETELY ROCKED OUT FOR THE SECOND HALF.

they played O Fortuna from Carmina Burana, Beethoven 5, Canon in D, Marriage of Figaro, the Confutatis from the Mozart Requiem...

IT WAS AWESOME

and THEN.... they brought out their special guest.... JOAN JETT!!!

she played I Love Rock and Roll. she was totally awesome.

I love concerts i don't have to pay for. especially when they're awesome.

I took some videos with my camera, but I have no space to host them on (they're quite large)

yeah, for every good pic i got, i took like a bajillion blurry ones. 🙂

Yeah they do put on a great show. Saw them here in Cleveland at the beginning of the month. Audio mixing wasn't exactly what I would have liked, but still a damn good show. 🙂

yeah, I see what you mean. At times, the sound didn't seem that great.

They would bring up the volume of the soloists like 2-3 seconds into their solo.

still a good show though. the second half made up for the super cheesy first half

oh and i put up a couple new pics!

I saw them over the weekend in Philly and was extremely impressed with the show. I will certainly be seeing them again next year.

I saw them in Cleveland too and I'd have to agree with the mixing part. The first part is a little on the 'cheesy' side but it really is a great storyline. I gotta tell you that the one Black guy can sing like there is no tomorrow. O' Fortuna ROCKED. The musicians were real clean sounding (and spot on) except for the keyboardist. While he was good, the keyboard sounded terrible. I haven't heard many keyboards that sounded even close to a piano. Normally it's not a big deal but with TSO it was.

Otherwise, great show and it will definitely be part of our family traditions every year.

one of my coworkers went there last night with his gf. he invited me and my gf but we declined since we'd already spent too much money this month. looks like I missed out on a kickass concert
