HOLY %$&@# NE1 watching the IRL race???? **Update** Now with video

Kenny Brack got f*&ked up bad!!! :Q:Q:Q His car got seriously damaged

Don't know if they have pics yet.

Breck is on the ground with medical people around him. His car got cut in half:Q

Holy crap! REminds me of Earnhardt endover'ing down the backstreach @ Taladega a few years ago.

Meh, it's Indy. Those cars tend to fly into a bajillion pieces being little more than an engine, a seat and a bunch plastic. If it were a stock car, that'd be one spectacular wreck though.

yea, i was watching and saw it live, very scary, after the car was reduced to little more than the cockpit it went through some incredibly scary looking fast spins and flips.

Very happy to hear Kenny was awake and alert shortly aftwerwards, although he's got a lot of broken bones, it's incredible testament to the engineering of those cars.

wow, it broke apart like... eh, I can't think of a good metaphor. best I can think of was that time I lined up a bunch of ice cubes and I got a hammer....

can someone link me directly to the video?

Finally got around to watching this, quite a crash. Indy cars are designed to break apart like that to absorb the energy of the crash. The cockpit remained intact like it was designed to do.

I still can't wrap my head around the wisdom (or attraction) of driving a car around in an oval multiple times. 😉

Driving a race car around an oval or road track is a feeling that can't really be described. We do it because we love it, but of course driving a race car isn't for everyone (I, for instance, can't imagine why anyone would climb a mountain, but I love driving race cars, to each their own). I've raced on both ovals and road courses, and both present their own unique challenges. It may look easy to drive a car around an oval, but belive me, there are many many things happening each lap.

the only type of racing that interests me is the quarter mile (whether it's road or track) because, it's fun.
