Somebody's gone and done it. They actually stuffed the Rolls Royce Merlin Twin Turbocharged V12 from a P-51 Mustang (yes, the fighter plane) into a 55 Chevy BelAir. 3000 BHP. :Q

I honestly wonder how you can ride a 500 horse sled, I'm sure that thing can't weight much at all. I remember seeing V8 bikes weighing in at around 1300lbs...
 
umm jebus?!?! That engine doesn't drive a transmission does it? Wonder what that thing does in the 1/4 lol. I remember a year or so back seeing a "Jet powered MR2" on ebay, this thing had a 10hp motor for delivering oil to the engines and 2 jet engines, the problem with that car was the tires, not made to handle those speeds lol

Yeah, you'd need to put tank treads on that thing to get it to hook. you'd spin tires for 11 of your 13 second run 🙂
 
Get this! I've been to that shop....my only trip to Australia, in 1995.

He makes all kinds of stuff....IFS kits, magnesium Chevy big blocks, I had an amazing tour of his place 😕

Done far more dangerous things in my life, but not of my choosing.


Thought about it. Would like to take it for a run at Bonneville. Only once, to see how it was.

 
superb mod. Something like that helicopter engine that guy put in a motorcycle that Jay Leno bought.
