My old router = Gigafast WF-717B ($6)
My new router = Linksys WRT54G V4 (with OpenWRT in the works as soon as it's officially V4 compatible)

My old bandwidth cap = 500kB
My new observed bandwidth cap = 1000kB. One megaBYTE per second. 8mbit.

It is worth noting that the Gigafast also stopped passing most UDP traffic towards the end of it's service life. That's why it was replaced. So, either my B/W cap got upped when I rebooted the modem while installing the new router, or that $6 POS was a bottleneck from hell.

Wow, nice speed for Comcast.

/edit the wrt54g is a nice router, I use the hacked firmware, and ssh is nice 😀

Word of advice: Stay away from products that advertise using adjectives in their name...EZthis or that, Gigafast, etc. etc.
