I haven't been shopping for memory since oh, a month ago, and I just looked at pricewatch and nearly fainted (or shouted, anyways).

PC133: 256mb for $19? 128mb for $9?

good lord. I bought my PC133 256mb stick for $100, and got a good deal at that, way back when.

Well, those must be no name brands...

I got Micro 256MB PC133 for around $45 around a month ago... prices should be slightly lower now, but not THAT low :)

Wow, nice prices. Even if it is generic.

The really cheap 256MB sticks are high density and only work in some motherboards.
If it says 32X4, that's high density.
If it's 32X64 it's normal low density.

I bought PC133 128mb Corsair memory in the summer of 99 and it was at an "all time low" of $130 a stick. Then it jumped to something like $300 a stick and allowed me to make a profit on the sale. :)

I have a stick of cheap 256mb that I bought. It will only work in my KT7 (Kt133). I put it in my old BE6 with the BX chipset and it shows up as a 128mb dimm.

Remnant2, simply put, no kidding <g>! I just received two DDR sticks from Crucial, a 256MB and a 128MB. I decided to buy them and put them away until the nForce boards show up and are judged, and between Tuesday and today the two sticks have gone down a combined $7.

Who cares! W/ memory this cheap it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm just anxious to see how the nForce pans out. At the least I'll pick up a DDR Athlon board and plunk my Crucial in there.

I had no idea about that crack rack. I just purchased a 256 Mb cas 2 PC133 stick last night from Crucial for just $44.87, but I used the webpromo to get it even cheaper than it lists on their front page. Is that still possible to take advantage of through that crack rack link?

Hmmm... personally I wouldn't go totally crazy stocking up until two reliable sources said memory will go up.... ahh well, I already have 512MB of PC2100, so I'm out of the memory market for a while anyway.
