No snow yet...it's kinda odd, seeing how outside this weird radius of influence there is snow everywhere else.
(Albany/Troy area)

I don't think my house is getting snow right now which is about an hour south of Albany... But right now at school we're getting hit hard. (About 4 hours north of Albany) :p

Went to Lake George over the weekend and there seemed to be some snow, and the other day to Manchester, VT and they had snow there too...a friend of mine in Amherst mentioned about snowing as well.

Oh thank goodness. When I read New York, NY in your profile...I thought you meant Manhattan.

Please keep that crap up there. I don't want to see a single flake in the Bronx.

Friend of mine mentioned snowflakes in Manhattan like two weeks ago?

Yeah, there were a few flakes mixed in with rain a few weeks ago. I guess I should have said, I don't want to see further flakes...lol.

No snow in Erie, PA (astonishingly). Except I think that we're going to lose all of our Canadian friends soon. Based on how much freaking wind is blasting through here from up north, I think Canada will be completely out of air by sometime tomorrow. For most of this week, there's been 20mph+ winds with up to 40mph gusts. Presently, 25mph with 38mph gusts. The wind advisory says, "Occasionally sustained above 30mph with gusts upwards of 45mph."

How cold is it? I'm planning to bring my GF there for a trip, and would like to see snow, skate at the ring, see the big freaking tree, stroll through Central Park, drink warm stuffs out of Serendipity (freaking movie girl...), etc... We'll be staying at some hotel right in front of the big freaking tree on 5th.

Write this on the blackboard 100 times:

I will never underestimate the lake effect snow machine.

Canada run out of the wind? Never! We had a cruise a few weeks ago with over 1000 Canadians onboard and we could've saved a lot on fuel just by rigging towels overhead. :p

Gets down around 5-10 at night.

Nope, just some light snow here. What the hell happened to "milder" winters. I thought we were moving on up... Hate this freezing crap. I chose the wrong place to be born;).

I should've been taking pictures of here the past few days... it's fvcked here. Well not huge amounts but annoying has all hell with 50+ mph wind gusts on one of the days and windy as shit in general.

There is this cool drift of snow on the roof above my front door. It hangs out pretty damn far yet somehow has stayed in place. I just know that one time I'll go out there at night to smoke a jib and have the whole damn thing come down on me.

edit: and if this week hasn't been enough...

LOOK FOR SNOW TO DEVELOP LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING. THE SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES SATURDAY NIGHT...AND THEN DIMINISH SUNDAY. FROM SATURDAY EVENING TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON...PLAN ON WIDESPREAD SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES.

UPDATE: Got a few pics of that mass of snow above my head everytime I walk outside!

The pictures don't show it as well as I thought, but I sure hope I'm not under that when it comes down... cause trust me there is a ton there!

IIRC lake effect snow only happens in 4 places on Earth, none as severe as the Lake Erie region. Nature's perfect snow storm, living in an affected area I have witnessed this incredible phenonenom many times.

I was very confused by this...
Aren't you on a cruise ship? What would you rig them to? They'd have to be sewn together of course...

I know, I over-thought it. :(

I am and the joke is flawed - if everyone blew real hard into a sail it would do little to push the ship. Now if they all stood at the stern and blew it might do something. ;)
