Holy hell snowblowers are loud

Bought a used single-stage Snapper snowblower (2-cycle Tecumseh Snow King engine) last week and started it for the first time today. Jesus, it's loud. I used to think my Stihl brushcutter was loud but this snowblower puts the brushcutter to shame.

I wonder if anybody has successfully soundproofed a snowblower's engine compartment? I figure it's upwards of 95-100db right now. I'd love to get it down to lawnmower-type levels.
