Just got comcast installed in my new house and just fired up the internet speed test to see what i get here

very pleasantly surprised considering at my old place (comcast) I used to get 5000 kbps down and 900 kbps up

let me enjoy it :(

actually bittorrent has been running a lot faster recently (at my old place). I recall hearing that Comcast got in trouble for throttling bittorrent. maybe it has something to do with that.

just tried downloading a 20 meg file from my website (largest i had available) and I was getting 1.2 megs per sec. Im sure powerboost has something to with it. I need to find a larger file later on. Unfortunately I cant surf around too much as this is my work laptop

What good is it all if they have bandwidth caps (and may still be throttling BT)?

Huh? You can still benefit from fast internet even without pirating 250GB per month. Get over it.

hay buddy! maybe these people are, doing... 250 gigs of... legitimate torrents a month.Maybe they're seeding educational shareware software to kids in Kenya. Bandwidth caps would means these children might not be able to get the software they need to learn.

Bandwidth Caps only hurt these children, it's a sad fucking day I tell you.

Screw the children in Kenya... let them get their own torrents going like the rest of us.

Are you serious? ONE HD movie rental on the PS3 store is like 6GB. That is awful man.

I find this interesting. Never has my speed increased (or decreased) because of the house I lived in. Does it have a metal roof or something?

We just got our internet set up last weekend, wife chose roadrunner. She got their cheapest package and I'm getting about 5Mbps down and 360Kbps up. I'm pretty happy considering I had AT&T DSL in TX and only got 1.5Mbps down there for the same price.

<Spidey07> Stop whining! If you want uncapped bandwidth, pony up for the business class service! </Spidey07>

I figured that I'd save him the trouble of posting :)
