I've seen this and it's awesome, I like ladybugs.

Not with so many of them though.

I'm sure you'll see grosser in the next few years, given your current occupation.

We have a butterfly grove in my city. Good size grove with eucalyptus trees towering everywhere. I forget when (spring?) you can go and see 1000s of them flying around.

They smell bad. I remember seeing similar in the pacific northwest in the mid 90's. Entire attics, walls, sheds, etc.. covered in ladybugs. And the stink was horrible.

One of the few insects people look at and don't mind being around.

Are they really that different from spiders? I propose a name change for spiders because they get a really bad rap...

There haven't been any movies featuring ladybug attacks.

There haven't been reports of people dying or losing limbs from ladybugs.

Ladybugs know their place and stay outside around here where as spiders are trespassing motherfuckers who like to crawl around in MY HOUSE! I don't kill spiders I find outside, and that's the truth.

I don't know anybody who's been bitten by a ladybug. The guy in this thread is the first I've heard of them biting at all. I know quite a few people personally that have been bitten by spiders.

There's a ton of reasons why they're different. Take your pick.

I think it's just the Asian Ladybugs, but not 100% certain.
