Raidmax 10-Bay Mid-Tower Case

Before saying it has only 4 fans, see the pictures.

Anyone with this case, what kind of airflow do you get?

This is not a hot deal because it is sold elsware at virtually the same price.
 
why? raidmax has this design for many months now. I am sure many has one. I build some with it, but never check how cool it gets.
 
That is pretty nice. Mine only has 5 but I wish I had that vent in the front so my 120mm could get a good amount of air, all it has is like a 4 mm gap under the case to suck in. I am getting these feet that raise it like an inch though so I should be good by then, which is tomorrow.
 
what a sh*tty design. pinholes for fan airflow that look like they came from generic cases of years ago... radial fans suck at fighting back pressure, installing a ton of super restricted fans = loud and pathetic. build quality/engineering is lacking. chieftec/antec tower would rock that case. better air flow

just a little more, but aluminum and has drive rails, good fan vents, screwless fan mounts, case door that hides and muffles ugly drives(once u add drives ot that other drive, it just will look odd) front and side door lock with handle etc... steel versions cost slightly less.

Radial fans suck at fighting back pressure? Fighting what pressure? All the airflow should be going (generally) in one direction... wait a minute... do you have all your fans going intake?!

Also, I take off the pinholes for fans... they take away alot of the CF/M for them and add noise.

BTW how much does that antec that you linked to cost? Not $45. As such, you can't really compare the two (it would be like comparing the P4EE to the Athlon 1900+, they aren't in the same price range, and as such aren't comparable)

Funny, I've modded my primary to have 5x80mm,
1x90mm, and 2x120mm all at 5v and they make almost no noise... my CPU HS/F(12v) makes most of the DBa.

The back pressure referred to is that caused by the stamped-out fan grilles. They are just holes in flat metal - that causes turbulence, and back pressure on the fans, which reduces airflow and increases noise. Wire fan grilles allow better airflow with less noise.
 
Ummm... case fans (that 99.9% of us use) are axial, not radial. Radial fans look like what pushes a paddleboat through the water, or what hamsters "exercise" on. True that axial fans make a lot of flow but don't do diddly for increasing pressure, and the same goes for trying to overcome it - so they are poor for trying to pull air through a clogged filter or dense fan grille.
 
ack i got it backwards. yes, if u want to for some reason increase air pressure or force air through a case u'd use blowers. axial fans in series is best. well essentially in series since cases are neither really free air or sealed boxes, but somewhere in between. that cheap pos case has more metal then holes for the fan grills, thats just sad. you'd have to run fans very fast and very loud just to get near what a low rpm fan could do in a better design case. the price difference isn't drastic at all, its like 65 dollars for an aluminum case and even less for the steel versions if you shop around. the question is whether its worth saving 20 dollars when getting a case that is so much worse. especially considering you'd spend that 20 dollars on fans alone 😛 your getting what you pay for.
 
I think the Raidmax case is very nice looking! I can attest to the fact that the paint finish on it is top notch! They never come with all the fans that there are spots for. Even at $45USD + $15USD for shipping it is a bargain.
