what map is that? Is the stupid FVCKIN headshot box still from the knees to the top of the head? I quit CS for that reason - noobgame with a HUGE headshot box. Each patch got worse too...

It's cs_office. I only played it for 15 minutes, but it feels a lot like the early betas again. The game is well tuned imo.

No doubt, I hope the gameplay is improved. If so, I will probably start playing again.

It was only like that pre-Beta 1. Maybe you shouldn't stand still. It's easier to headshot targets that are standing still.

I'm usually not someone who gets all giddy for graphic improvements...but the improvement to cs contributes SUBSTANTIALLY to the gameplay. Thef act that all the objects have real world physics makes it great...someone throws a grenade around the orner and you can see debris flying off the walls :p and nothing like shooting a computer screen in your opponents direction!

I promise that if everyone on AT suddenly learns how to post in the correct forum and starts excercising it -and does so for a good six months straight- I will leave AT for good. :)

I have yet to see anyone actually use the physics in play for CS:S except for bouncing grenades off objects.

Pretty gfx though. I especially like the Dust maps.

LOL trust me I used to OWN that game... played WAY too much every week and my grades showed it. :) I was dang good and usually had a 2.5 k/d ratio. I just hated though how you'd have noobs get a headshot from across the map while they hold down the trigger... we're talkin what in real life would be 500 yard shots. Each patch the H/S box seemed to get worse and worse so I just got tired of it.. now when I play I cant stand how many hs there are... and its not the ones where you are 3 feet apart - its the ones across the map with the AK. 1 bullet and your 100 health and 100 armor are toast.

I've been playing for years and the headshot hitbox has never EVER been that big. Now, in 1.6, you can shoot the hole between someone's arm and their gun and miss them.

Obviously I slightly over exaggerated "from the knees" but I do find it rediculous as to how easy it is to kill someone across the map with 1 bullet. I have shot a lot of rifles in real life and I can tell you how accurate you have to be to hit someone past 200 yards. I just wish they could hit you but the headshots lessened a lot more with distance and with movement. People running around poppin off shots...

 Yeah, because CS is *SO* realistic! Just the other day I was trying to plant this bomb next to a school bus full of sprite-kids and this stupid cop comes up and tags me in the back with a knife! That's okay. I respawned back at my house, ran back to the school and shot him with my .50 cal desert eagle.

The branding in that game is awful though. In the office, for example, there were a bunch of Dell computers with Radeon 9800pro graphics cards and IBM hard drives. Clearly identifiable.

Then again, it's pretty cool that there was enough detail to see all that.
