newsgroups sucks for my verizon now. They cap each connection to 15KB/s or so. I get a max of 8 connections. Still not bad, but nowhere as fast as before, and downloading headers is a biatch since I could only download with one connection. However, newsleecher's header search is a godsend.

It's been capped for over a year now.
If you search google about the cap, you'll see a lot of other people complaining about it too.
