You can't really call that unless you know their scoring system.

True, ive never seen a scoring system in place that would favor RB that much. It must be the case though with the likes of Lewis, Dunn, and Jones going before Chad Johnson or Steve Smith

Depends on how well they do the first week and how desperate someone with a couple stud backs QB did. He might be able to put together a really enticing trade package with one or the other.

If thats the case, why wouldn't he pick up Palmer? More importantly, why was Palmer dropped to round 3?

OP, we need to know your league settings, stat.

Duly noted.

For reference, our league just went thru some scoring changes to equalize rushers and receivers.

Formerly, every player in our 16-man roster, 12-team league got 1pt per 20yds rushing and receiving, plus a bonus 3pts for crossing 100yds on either (so 12pts total at 100yds even rushing and 99yds receiving). They would also get 3pts for 10 completed catches, and 1pt per catch thereafter. Naturally, running backs like Brian Westbrook (or Marshall Faulk of yesteryear) who are extensively used in the flat passing game were almost as good as two players, even with no scoring provision based on rush attempts. We also noted that on average the top rushers totaled 250pts per season, while the top receivers only 150pts.

The change is that true receivers (WR/TE) now get 1pt per catch, with no bonus. This means a receiver who last year would have 9 points for a 70yd 1TD performance now gets 13. Running backs still follow the old "10-catch bonus of 3pts" scoring. So they haven't really lost anything. Because featured RBs tend to have many more opportunities to score points (measuring solely by how many times they touch the football), this should help level the playing field and have implications all the way down to borderline #3 receivers.

The effectiveness of this scoring nudge can't be called until season's end but I'm looking forward to this.

Jake Delhomme in round 2? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

<pauses to take breath>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAH

I remember a couple years back when someone in my league ( I think it was an automatic pick) ended up with KC Defense in the first round.

Cooley in round 9 would have been a steal though.

We just got done with our live draft this weekend, we aren't doing D..just Pro style rules (1QB, 1TE, 1K...then it can be 1RB / 3WR or 2RB / 2WR)

Rd 1 - 4th Pick : Ladanian Tomlinson
Rd 2 - 10th Pick : Matt Hasselbeck
Rd 3 - 9th Pick : Chris Chambers
Rd 4 - 10th Pick : Tatum Bell
Rd 5 - 5th Pick : Reuben Droughns
Rd 6 - 6th Pick : Alge Crumpler
Rd 7 - 8th Pick : Nate Burleson
Rd 8 - 13th Pick : Shane Graham
Rd 9 - 2nd Pick : Michael Clayton
Rd 10 - 4th Pick : Jerry Porter
Rd 11 - 11th Pick : Leonard Pope
Rd 12 - 11th Pick : Brad Johnson

Overall not too bad, we had some weird ones as well, kickers way too soon, backup QB's in 3rd and 4th rounds etc etc.
Can't wait for the season to start.

Took the chance on Tatum bell eh?... I'm dodging the Broncos backs like they had a deadly contagious desease...

Your draft pick numbers seem weird to me.. did you do a bunch of trading or was it a different kind of draft?

And how the hell did LT last until the 4th pick?
