Ah. In AMERICA, the guy would have had an A-K, and would have killed 26 instead of 4.

Witness a crime wave, as seen in other countries:

<< A 7-year-old boy playing in a schoolyard in western Japan was fatally stabbed by a teen-age assailant in December 1999. In August last year, a teen-ager was arrested for stabbing to death three members of a neighbor's family. >>

In America, we kill more people before breakfast than your country kills in an entire year!

Yep, Japan really needs better knife control. If only butter knives were legal there, this wouldn't have happened.

In Japan and other industrialized countries like Germany or UK, just between 50 and 100 people murdered by guns every year, in the States it's close to 20,000 (not sure). This knife story is very sad, very sad, and a big shcok here. But you have everywhere mentally ill peeps, and of course, unlike in the US, there is absolutely no "security" around in Japanese schools. Japan is an extremely peaceful country, with a much, much lower crime rate than the US.

We have to keep the thing in the right perspective: the US is the most brutalized western society, the annual death toll is only comparable with 3rd-world civil-war countries like Liberia.

If allowed myself to feel for every child who is the victim of senseless violence I would be permantly affixed into a rocking chair in the corner. I CAN'T feel sorrow for them all... I simply don't have enough. This is the world we live in today. :(

Since I am not able to offer my true sorrow I will not pretend and post something like "Gee, thats terrible". OF COURSE its terrible FFS!! Does that REALLY need to be said? Murdering children has to be the SINGLE MOST EVIL thing you could do. We all know that.

When I see these types of things I mourn MORE for the world than I do for the individuals. Humanity is a plague. :(

Yes, I'll continue to make them as long as people spew garbage about the problem...I know your thread wasn't even about the method/means, but this is OT...

No, you're not listening...anyways, I think the credit goes to FrancesBeansRevenge. How many times do I have to say that no one said anything about knife/weapon control?

As terrible as it was, it would have been much worse if it had been in US.

Here, he could have stopped off at the local Gun & Pawn, picked himself up a nice semi-auto, and offed, half a generations worth of kids.

Let the stupid idiots post about "knife control". They bleat like sheep. They are sheep.

Its much easier to just go about one's life ignoring the problems around them then doing something about it... except, of course, when it hits you directly. But then it is always to late...

heh... If it were the US it would have been a gun. & The shooter would have been taken out by a 1st grader & The 9mm he keeps in his desk.

yeah.

you have to be a royally F'ed up/insane/sadistic damer, mcveigh, bundy style to stab a little kid. :(
guns are more impersonal, knifes are much more personal and point blank.
