Geeze, 3 weeks ago I was looking at local prices for regular unleaded at $1.39 a gallon. Today it's up to $1.68!!! :Q What's going on?!?!
:|

Barrell prices have been very high for a couple weeks now. Expected to continue being high for the next few weeks as well.

There was a story out the other day that the national reserves were hitting their lowest levels. I think OPEC took their exports down a little as well which always causes prices to spike upwards.

You live next to an oil well ?

It has not been lower than $1.69 in my area in the past 5 years.

Well, I could be soon if the reserves off of our coast are opened up 😛 But, AFAIK there are no oils wells near Panama City, Fl 😛

You are a Floridian ?

How the hell is the weather down there ?

It's damn cold up here in the North East....BBBBRRRRR.

It's not been lower than about 70p/l here for a good 2-3 years 🙁 It's hovering about 73-76 atm

<-- Damn UK sucks for drivers :|

Confused

While just about every house hold in America garages 4 cars, a SUV, a hummar, 3 quads for the kids, a leaky lawn mower, snow mobile, and a boat; at least I know I can't complain.

And when you see a mobile home unit towing a car behind it, just say "fawk it", and give up fighting on how much gas costs.

Highs in the 50's/60's now, but last week we were in the 80's 🙁 Yesterday and today we've had cold, steady rain. Now the temps are hovering around the freezing mark at night.

I'm jealous, it's now a balmy 13 degrees here now, winds are blowing a steady 20 m.p.h. 🙁

Gas goes up every winter. This is normal.

Tell me about it. A week or two ago, prices were down to $1.28/gallon. Now they're up to $1.60 or so.

EDIT: this is standard grade gas. the two higher grades are $0.10 and $0.20 higher, respectively

We had $1.35 a little while ago, but now it's up to $1.45. I don't give a damn, quite frankly. In fact I welcome higher prices just to spite SUV owners. I would like to see gas at $5/gallon.

No, you wouldn't like to see it at $5/gallon. In fact, I'd bet my car that you would be whining like the rest of america.

I'd whine less, because I don't get 15 mpg 🙂 And, it would be worth it to see people in big SUVs unable to drive and having to trade in a $40k car for $12 and buying an econobox because they can't afford to drive it. Whoo hoo!!

Do you understand it would still cost you ~$80 to fill up your gastank. On average it would cost $.25/mile just for FUEL. Not including anything else.

At that point, even your sentra wouldn't be good enough.
