CS people can be just as funny, just because you can code doesn't mean you know anything about the hardware from what I"ve seen of the local CS people 😀

I've seen a ton of damaged motherboards from people who couldn't figure out how to install simms and just jammed them in bending pins. Oops.

oh i know. actually you can be a chem major and be awesome at computer hw.

i'm ex CS and grad. in MIS.

I hired a girl back in the day when it was hard to hire anyone with a pulse. She built some boxes for us, about 15 or so. All of them had the floppy's upside down and the red led stuck on.

My genius roommate nuked the motherboard in his server changing RAM.

Now everything we do with our PC's is "Just like changing RAM."

Tonight he killed a floppy drive while changing cables with the power supply on.

(not like I haven't done the same thing myself a million times, but he actually damaged something - "I saw a puff of smoke")

I seriously doubt it. Yet again, at first i thought my friend would be able to do this without breaking anything. It was just as simple as lining up the sticks and providing even, steady pressure on the stick!!
