Uhh.... Ok I just looked at my cell phone after taking it out of my backpack and apparently I dialed 08 which took me to an emergency number, and it was connected for over 45 minutes!!!

What should I do?

UPDATE: Ok, I decided that rather and wait I should just call them and say everything's fine... so I did and the lady was just like "Ok... so everything's fine then? Are you sure?" and I was like "Yeah, yeah just accidentally must've dialed the number when it was in my bag."

Ouch... do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

I just accidentally left the keypad unlocked and it dialed a number... anyone could've made that mistake man.

Really? That kinda sucks then, but it makes sense because I could've sworn I locked the keypad.

Um, the purpose of keypad lock is to prevent one from accidently calling a number. None of the 6 phones I've had or used with the keypad lock - the only combo to get the phone to work was the unlock combo. 911 nor any other combo did it on the phones I've used.

those three numbers work on my Nokia phone even when its locked. Of course, the next button has to be send, if it's something else it just locks the phone again (dialing 1123-send does nothing but 112-send would connect)

These numbers are obviously special because if there's an emergency, the last thing you want is to be fumbling around with your phone (or someone else's) trying to press menu-* or trying to remember what the 4-digit pin is.

Imagine if someone were to accidentally dial 911 from a phone in their pocket when in a not-so-G-rated situation....

How awkward would that be?

Oh by the way, you did the right thing by calling them, as opposed to ignoring them. I've dialed emergency numbers by accident and when I tell them I screwed up they are usually pretty understanding.

Yup, just checked and if I press 0 and then 8 even when its locked it will let me call the emergency number... glad I called them back and now I don't have to really worry about it...
