Sh*t. If it had of been 5 degrees colder last night I'd have a snow day here. it rains, but can't get it's crap together and turn it to snow.

Atlantans are the most pathetic people when it snows ... EVERYTHING closes. Absurd because there's probably 1 inch of snow and it will be gone by 12n :cool:

Yeah, driving in the ATL when there's snow is always a challenge.

First there's the "holy sh!t, BLACK ICE, I better drive 20 mph" crowd of locals
Then there's the "I'm from the north, this is nothing, I better drive 80 mph" transplants
And of course, the "I drive a really big 4wd, get the fvck outta my way" crowd

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go stock up on bread and milk. ;)

I will never forget how entertaining it was watching my wife, who was born and lived her entire life in Montreal prior to our marriage, experience her first Northern Virginia winter. She too tried to drive just like she did in Montreal and after putting her Honda Civic up on a hillside she finally figured out that snow at 30 degrees F is a lot more treacherous and slippery than snow at -6 F that has been treated with that magic blue stuff they use up there.

It was optional and it looks like I'm just going to be playing games all day!

My coworker (in atl) just lost power, ice on powerlines issue of some sort... sounds pretty nasty today. Glad I'm further south.

They delayed work for 2 hours for us. Only problem is, I couldn't get through to the hazardous weather message line to find that out. I came in an hour late and will be leaving an hour early :).
