THis may be of interest to anyone using IE. This has been annoying the crap out of me for over a year and no one has been able to help me fix it. On a whim I just re-searched it one more time today and found the following: FIX! Thank god...seems to have completely solved the problem.

i don't get it. i've seen this occassionally, but it's always been when the cache was overloaded. if you set your cache settings to empty more frequently than this doesn't happen.

or at least that's been my experience.

When you say set your cache setting to empty you mean deleting out the temporary files, right? Othewrwise I'm not sure what you are talking about here.

to be honest it's been a while since i've messed with IE. using Firebird on most of my systems. i just installed Win2k3 on my server and i checked the back on that one and had no problems going back on it.

i keep history set to like 2 days. on temporary internet files i have it set to check for newer versions of page automatically.

Thanks!

Computing.net is such an excellent site. I couldn't begin to guess how many oddball problems MSKB couldn't find that Computing.net solved.

I already have those settings set and i still get that message. I even get it on these forums if I reply to a post like I'm doing now, and then use the Back Button to return to the forum list instead of clicking the link back to the forum list. I never had that problem on these forums until a week or so ago. FOr some reason the "Replying to a post" page shows up twice in my IE Back Button list.

Did you follow the whole procedure with deleting the cookies and files as they described?
