Well, after switching to Rogers cable I've been on average getting about 10 ms better pings than I used to on Sympatico aDSL. Then I hit a server with a 4 ms ping! :Q

I wonder if it's in the same neighbourhood.

Yeah, what Killbat said. No way that is right.

Edit: Heck, I didn't even look at the link. I thought you meant an in-game ping of 4. I've gotten single digits pinging servers many times...but in-game it's nowhere near that.

<< Riiiight. You can't get that on a 100mb LAN, much less any consumer ISP. >>

Well, I have never before gotten below the 20s, but I have the screen grab. However, it's only 1 ping and it's a private server anyway.

Dunno if it's a glitch of the software or they happen to be on the same local loop or something.

I've seen people with a 5-8ms on they're own servers. :)

But that is one lucky ping if it's true at all.. Notice there's no people though. :)

Pinging the servers is much different that your actual in-game ping. I initially thought you were talking about your actual ping IN the server, not just to it.
I've gotten single digit pings to servers many times, but if I went in, while still good, the ping was nowhere near that low number.

i'm not sure if an oc3 would get you a better ping..i don't know if the latency is improved over the line just cause it is a bigger pipe.

It's just an initial ping.
Jump on that bad-boy and you'll see it go up over 40 at least.
