Yes Canada has almost twice as many users in terms of percentages, but the US is still number one in terms of the raw number of users.
Well yeah the US has more people

I used to think that part of the problem in the US was the vast geography and infrastructure being an issue. This may partly be the case. Though canada is BETTER than the US in terms of how big it is a great amount of the Can population lives in the southern part and I wonder how much all of this plays into broadband available based on concentration of the population. The Canadian population is well spread out but most of canada is totally unused.
Japan and SK can have good broadband because they're so damn small you can run a lan party throughout either of those countries
US broadband sucks balls. I can get now from two options the cheapest of which is $35/month plus probably $5 for the modem. This gives me 256/128. $10/month more gets me 512/128 and $10 again gets 1.2mbps/256 I think. Really sad.
I remember paying in nova scotia $40 CAN/month for a 2-4mbps/1mbps line. Not sure if it's still that way, but that was 3 years ago.
It would be nice if the US gov't would do some serious subsidizing and drop fiber optics everywhere!
BTW this isn't a CAN vs US. If I was paying for broadband now the increased cost I'd more than make up for with the AWESOME insurance rates I have compared to NS
