Can't wait until the soccer moms start to sport these things...

"Hunny, I need at least 600lbs of torque when I'm on my cell phone and I need to take the 30 gallon cooler to the soccer game."

Wow....

Dodge ups the Ante yet again with truck motors.... so far they've set the bar with the Hemi (though Ford's Triton is better for towing from what I've heard), and now they're one step ahead with this 600 ft/lb motor :Q sick

the only heavy-duty diesel pickup pre-equipped for an exhaust brake
Pre equipped? I know what exhaust brake is, but always thought it was specific to big rig diesels...

Are they only going to offer it with the NV again though? :disgust:

An automatic transmission is also available with the new Cummins "600."

OMG AMAZING are they pulling their heads out of their azz finally!? Now lets just hope it holds up to all that power ;)

That's ok, the Ram will just be at the starting line with a 16,000lb load behind it... waiting for the Titan to get a real motor

It's a Cummins, not a Dodge motor.
Yes, I realize that - fact still stands that Dodge has the strongest lineup of trucks, no matter who's making the motor.

Wow! Always loved Cummins. Way to go Dodge.

It comes with an exhaust brake. I'm far from current but I never cared for them in HD
application.

Give me a gutted up pipe with a good ol' Jake Brake............:)

NOTE: IHC diesels should stay on the farm, the H is for harvester!

The current HO isn't available in California because of all the tree huggers. Who wants to bet this one won't be either?

...and usually performance in the "twisties" is limited by the 12000LB trailer you're lugging around. At which point the Titan would get owned when it's Dana44 ends up as gravel and has to go down a hill without any engine braking.

This is also the quietest Ram diesel ever and the first High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel that meets 50-state emissions requirements

The mining truck weighs 166,000 lbs, the Ram has a towing capacity of 16,000 lbs. Someone explain this to me how the ram can tow a 166,000 lb vehicle.

That wont last too long though, its only a matter of time before your average soccer mom fills it up with 87 octane gas...

NFS4: I saw that too, but the HO USED to be available. But isn't now. Emissions regulations isn't just a moving target in California, it's a target strapped to a hyperactive jack rabbit on PCP.

LOL :)

**Remembers back to when a local radio DJ told the story on air about filling his brand new car up with diesel fuel instead 87 octane** :)

107.5 KZL in Greensboro, NC. I bought their yearly CD JUST b/c of this story. Here's the WMA rip of him telling it:

Diesel Story

**Remembers back to the stream of cussing that my uncle did after my aunt called to tell him that she had put gas in the diesel Jetta again**

As a slight point in her defense, they did have a gas diesel with the exact same color. But still... my uncle doesnt let her use the diesel Jetta anymore except emergency trips.

Towing capacity doesn't determine the max amount of weight the truck can move, it determines how much it can move at a competent speed. Obviously towing 166,000lbs won't produce and acceptable speed on the streets :p

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just speaking off of logic...

Dont get me wrong, its a badazz pickup! But, I've heard a few stories of the Dodges front ends just not being able to handle the weight of the Cummins when they first came out a few years ago. Granted, this is using the pickup as an actual work truck, NOT playing yuppie through the suburbs.
Anyways, if they built around the engine as well as they built the engine, thats a WORK truck!
