It looks like tweaked optical technology. Although they are calling it a holographic disk, how would you actually project a hologram without recording scenes using perfectly aligned cameras on the X, Y, and Z axis? I don't think that is what they're offering.

hologram is simply storing information using interference patterns
 
how much do you think medias gonna cost? and the drive?

maybe when UHD comes around but thats a long way off.
 
i'll be happy when we get away from the 'cd' format to some other solution that has a longer shelf life and no concerns about being scratched. maybe something simliar to compact flash, just much much muhc cheaper 🙂

How the hell do they jump from less than 1gb of storage to over 200 times the max size of any other car the same size? HOW!?!?!

My favorite part about MMCs is the ability to touch with one's genitals.
