Hollywood Plus and Santa Cruz - Need Answers..

Hey,
Well currently I run a Live! Value with my H+ decoder, and well I use the 5.1>4 Speaker downmix trick through the use of DVD Genie. My concern is that, I'm not sure if this trick will work with the Santa Cruz. Does anyone know if this works? I'd really like to know, because I would like to buy a Santa Cruz, but DVDs are an important use of my PC.
(In DVD Genie, you use the option to output playback through the SoundCard, not the use of pass through cable, and in brackets, is says (possibly for use with other cards), so I'm looking for verification)
