I just saw a commercial that the book "Holes" is now a movie and will be out April 18th

Dunno if any of you have read this book, but I read it way back when, and I must admit, this is probably one of my favorite books. Been a while since I've read it, but I'm gonna see teh movee!

Resurrecting this thread since the movie just opened.

I haven't heard a whole lot of press about this film tho.
The cast is quite impressive.

As soon as I finished that book (my wife was teaching it in class), she and I spent several hours talking about what a great film that book would make.
Hope they translated it well to the big screen.

BTW: I read that book in one sitting...it was that compelling.
 
from what i gather from the previews...kids at a boot camp type place dig holes as punishment and find these lizard things that look scarey.
 
Just saw the movie yesterday. I don't know anything about the book, but the movie was great.

Well written, had several levels that tied together nicely, nice cast, good stuff.
 
Movie looks retarded from the commercial.

Guys: "Gee, let's go to the dessert and dig holes."
Guys dig holes.
Lizard crawls out of hole.
commercial ends.
Tyler changes channel.
