are there seperate hole saws for plastic/metal? im assuming there is... what would you guys recommend? thnx

If you're workign on a case, Bi-Metal hole saws work best. I prefer Bosch hole saws, personally.

Yup, they're all different.
Make sure you get the right one for what you're cutting, otherwise you'll have a crappy cut.

Lenox is also very good but as I said in another post..
You do not need Bi-Metal blade to to cut thin sheet metal...
But you do need the correct speed most hand drills run at 700+ RPMs
that is the correct speed for a 1/2" drill..
Your fan hole is about 3" so you what 1/6 of 700 RPMs say 100 RPMs..
If you bump the trigger every few seconds is your best bet..
The type hand drill you really want is a right angle drill used mostly by plumbers and runs slower...

What rarebear said, and if you want to be sure your saw cuts almost everything, buy carbide tipped tools. Pricey, but worth it.
