Hole Saw and a Dremel

I understand that the dremel isn't a drill, but couldn't one use a hole saw in a dremel, since the drill and and dremel do the same thing, spin real fast. Am i wrong? Feed back please

If you put a hole saw in the dremel it will not spin fast if at all. The motor in the dremel is to small to handle it. I would use a drill with the hole saw and leave the finish work for the dremel

you also wouldn't want the dremel to spin the holesaw - dremels go like 10k - 20k rpm, holesaw made for like 1k - it would become shrapnel.

actually more likely the Dremel would go scrap than the Hole Saw. Since the bit is so much larger than the Dremel is normally designed to handle, it'll have to accelerate that much more mass and size at 20k RPMS...that would be interesting

Yea, just make sure you have a good drill and attach the hole saw to that

hell no. no such thing exists, sorta. there is a bit that allows you to cut a large hole. it's basically a hollow cylinder at the end of the shaft. but that's not for hole sawing.

hole saws rely a lot on torque and not speed, which the dremel does not provide. the dremel's power comes from it's high rotational speed. hole saws should be used at a low RPM
