I recently purchased a transaparency/film/slide adapter for my Epson scanner. However, it did not come with a holder for the old fashioned cardboard mount slides.

Anybody know where I can find one. Using my fingers to manually place each slide directly on the glass is not going to work for the 500 slides I want to scan. Tx.

well, that's the reason why ppl who specifically scan slides and other transparencies use scanners made specifically for that purpose... they have a hold where you can load them, and have it automate the process.

depending on how the transparency adapter is, you can make one yourself...

My Epson 2450 Scanner came with to plastic holders that fit into the lid cavity - one for 35mm film strips and the other for 35mm cardboard mounted slides. Epson calls them "film holders."

corky-g: The holder that you say is for the cardboard mounted slides...do you have to remove the slide from the cardboard to have it fit, or does the entire cardboard assembly fit into the adapter?

I can send you a picture from the manual, but for 35mm slides, it shows placing the holder on the scanner glass first, and then placing slides (up to 4) in the holder in their cardboard mounts.

The other holder is for film strips, negatives, and unmounted slides.

In each case, the reflective mat in the lid is removed by sliding it forward.

No thanks...I just looked at the manual on Epson's web site. The slide holder depicted is exactly what I need. I don't know why that holder didn't come with the transparency adapter I just bought. I even called Epson before I purchased it to make sure it was configured for use with cardboard mounted slides. They said "Of course it is". I am not happy.

Can't blame you at all for ill feelings - sounds like what they sent you was the film holder. :(
