Number of bankers thrown in jail for massive fraud:
*crickets*
Holder will not be missed.
What fraud is that?

How about using in-house appraisers to value houses far above actual value, simply because the GSEs had dropped their verification procedures? Or bundling near-worthless mortgage-based securities as AAA? Or hiring low wage grunts to sign other people's names on mortgage reviews? What fraud is that?

I agree that accusations of banker fraud are far overplayed, but they aren't totally baseless. There were certainly things which should have been prosecuted. Corporations don't decide to break the law, people do, and as long as that lawbreaking remains highly personally lucrative with no appreciable personal risk it isn't likely to stop.
I guess it worked! I got me a troll!
You have frequently said that you hate both sides equivalently but I can't think of a single time you've made a similar statement to a conservative poster.
Do you know of one?
I play devil's advocate. It's my nature. In a forum that's overwhelmingly Democrat, I'm going to take the minority side. If I was posting on a right wing forum, I'd rag on Republicans more.
Oh, and I don't think I've ever said I hate both equivalently. I've said I dislike both, but even admitted that I tend to dislike Democrats more. That's mostly because while Republican leadership is utter shit, I find the average Republican to be a pretty decent person, if misguided. However while the Democrat leadership is better than Republican leadership, the rank and file Democrat is typically an awful, hateful person. Just look at the way this forum behaves.
No doubt but do you see it as an issue or concern?
Of course its an issue and a conflict of interest but since holder didn't write a law making it illegal what are you supposed to do?
I don't hate it, and I don't think it's wrong. Holder took a perfectly legal and very well-paying job consistent with his talent, education and background. He has every right to choose the best paying job available if he so desires, just like everyone else. Same for bankers like Geitner. That's what I'm asking. We all hate it, we all think it's wrong, we'd all do it if we were in their shoes, so what's the solution? I don't know.

I DO disagree that he is a victim, although since you feel that way, I hope you have made a nice donation to help him through his time of need.
Clearly everyone realizes that when you say Holder fell victim you aren't saying he was a victim. I mean, how obvious is that, right? It's like the meaning of "is", clearly "victim" does not mean "victim".I can tell you are off your meds again. Btw my tittle is a form of expression, it's pretty obvious to all but the biggest of trolls that I wasn't saying holder was some sort of victim.

Conservatives don't use that "turn of phrase". We say "I passed by the mall, smelled the Cinnabons, and bought one with my own money.""I passed by the mall the over day and I fell victim to the smell of Cinnabon and had a bite."
It's a turn of phrase you fucking moron! Now go take your meds, your stupidity is acting up.
You must learn to more effectively find the inherent shittiness in your fellow man.I play devil's advocate. It's my nature. In a forum that's overwhelmingly Democrat, I'm going to take the minority side. If I was posting on a right wing forum, I'd rag on Republicans more.

? I can see criticizing the Messiah for hiring from the lobbying firms he promised not to hire from - although not being surprised as he is a member of our professional liar class - but I don't see criticizing him for not preventing exiting employees from moving to or back to those jobs. I don't think we want the President to have the power of denying someone his best employment opportunity. Nor do I think Holder should be criticized for doing so. Why would the vast majority of us maximize our own earning potential and yet expect former government officials to go into poorly paid social warrior jobs or worse, become a professional Mandarin class of highly paid government workers? That's bad enough already.Man, what a piece of shit. I recall when Obama moved in, he "forbid" those in the admin, cabinet members, from moving into cush lobbying jobs, or moving in from them. Well, I suppose you can't legally stop someone from taking a job, but it's like that mandate that was purely common sense was never upheld.
One of the largest disappointments I have with Obama. Bullshit like this. Yeah, it's nothing new, but still--what the fuck.
again this is not a GOP or DEM issue.
this is a major fact that politics today is run by corruption. this is a fight that both want to keep going because they continue to win.
Some are so blind to what there party does as long as they can nitpik the other party. no matter both are doing the same fucking thing.
Yeah, she is a real peach.Everyone calm down, this was all resolved by the nomination of Loretta "I <3 citibank and HSBC" Lynch.
As expected, the democrats have resolved this before it even went to press and we should totally ignore that the firm couldn't find a warm body to occupy Eric "that's not what due process means" Holder's office for the years that he was personally called to civic duty in the best interests of the nation.
