The GT starts at 25K making it a difference of only 7K. Not only that but the GTO's do offer incentives and there is also room to haggle. So you could possible end up snatching one for well under 30k.
As always on Anandtech, it's not about the numbers. The ride quality with it's independant rear suspension and higher quality interior adds to the price. If you had experience with both then it would be very easy to spot.
