Ok...what's the deal with Waxed laces?

Apparently the parents I hang out with from my son's team are all new to this sport as well. Cause they didn't know either.

Is there an advantage? disadvantage? Why?

I've used both (not on purpose...remind me to pay better attention at the pro shop)...but found the waxed laces hard to tie.

so water doesn't soak into the laces and freeze would be my guess.

They don't come untied as easily in my experience.

They stay tight better and lasts longer.
