Funny and sad at the same time.

There was zero reason to escalate the situation.

Also if you see a bunch of white dudes beating on a security guard you are most definitely thinking it’s racial. It would be the exact same thought if you saw a white cop getting beat by a bunch of black dudes. Add to the fact that this was in Alabama and it’s nearly impossible to remove race from the motive.

Either way, this entitlement mentality is really bringing down the politeness that normal functioning societies offer.

If you don't see a group of 7-8 white guys beating up a black guy as a racist act, you are willfully ignorant.

Ill plead ignorant but not willfully. There was a reason given for this conflict. Unless otherwise informed I must assume the dispute is centered around that fact. I mean contemplate the ramifications of what you are saying, that each time there is a white/black conflict -> auto racism?

Did you really count 8 guys on that guard?

At one time there were 9 white people beating/surrounding the security guard. Look again.

BTW - Nobody is saying every time a black person fights with a white person it is auto racist. Let me repeat that, nobody is saying it. In most cases those kinds on confrontations are random.

However, you can't look at the situation and at least ask the question why only black people were willing to help that security guard and why he was being attacked by only white people. The teams in these videos are at least cause to ask the question.

I saw that, how many was actually participating though? To me it looked like some of them wanted to deescalate. I did not see 8 or 9 active attackers?

And I totally agree, it was my gut reaction too… But you know, suck it in, get on the choppa and see shit from above. We’re conditioned to stereotype it like that. I dont know. The one thing I thought was weird was that it WAS black and white, neither group had even one token color from the other team… So maybe the whole stage was racist from the beginning before the incident… shrugs… Thats even worse isnt it?

There were 4-5 beating the guard. There were 0 white people pulling attackers off the guard.

Out of those 9 white people surrounding the security guard, I can only make out about 3 of them who are actively beating on the security guard (maybe 4, I couldn't make out what that younger dude was doing, but it looks like he reached in trying to pull one of the white guy out). The rest of them looks like they were trying to deescalate but admittedly not in a very effective manner.

Racism may or may not have contributed to this brawl, but alcohol definitely does. I am not dismissing your view, I am just not ready to jump to any conclusion.

There was at least one guy (older guy shirtless guy with green shorts) that tried to pull one of them off.

Then there's the kid that got denied trying to intervene.

Not sure if you're talking about the same guy but there was one guy in green shorts that looks in retrospect that he was attacking the attackers since he walked away with the black dude.

That guy and another in green shorts walks away with him.

I guess Alabama has a thing for green shorts.

I don't see any of the white dudes attacking each other. They were all were either beating the security guard, or pulling one of their own out of the pile up. I watched multiple versions of the video and from what I can tell there were 3 main attackers.
- White dude with grey shorts and black/white baseball cap (started the fight)
- White dude with red shorts and blue or purple baseball cap (attempted & failed imitating Masvidal's flying knee)
- White dude with green shorts and brown baseball cap (came in right after his buddy failed the flying knee attempt) - I believe people online identified him as Chase Shipman the owner of a mini-mart in Selma, AL.

Also, the only reason they all walked away because they noticed people were coming to the security guard's aide. If there weren't more bystanders coming to help, I think the beating would've last longer as you can see the guy who started it all was going around throwing fists at anyone coming in to help. He first tried to punch one of the kid worker in the stomach. Then threw his fist against the black dude trying to break up the fight.

Just based on all the videos I've seen, those 3 should be charged plus the blonde lady in the oversized blue shirt who came in at the end to kick the security guard while he was on the ground.

I caught it the other day on shitter because it was trending as Blaquaman. LOL. I click on it thinking MAGAs are probably losing their shit over a black dude getting cast as Aquaman in the new DC cinematic universe Gunn is doing. Like a continuation of the little mermaid MAGA outrage. Turned out it was trending because homie swam his ass off to get some. There were already memes with him shopped into them. Funny stuff. He's already an absolute legend -


While opinions vary, I am stoked the bystander effect did not win. Seeing a city worker getting gang beaten, and getting involved is the right thing to do. As to all the other fighting; I am stoked the deplorables took the L. Stoked no one knew how to fight too. Someone could have been seriously injured or toe tagged.

This guy is a hero. One of the reasons I started this thread is like @DAPUNISHER it warmed my heart to see those knuckle draggers get their asses whupped.

Saw the vid, how much more Southern can you get than a bunch of mullet-wearing fat shirtless rednecks in a pontoon boat. Doubtlessly drunk on Jim Beam as well. It looked like some chick was trying to go after the guard as well, and he was just stiff-arming her (?) I didn't pay all that much attention. You get drunk hicks together and they'll fight anything, including each other.
