Ho do we stop this damn hacker...

The game is Unreal Tournament, and I play on the Cinci server which is usually packed.

We'll anyway... this player who's name is roflmao is a hacker.. and a good one at that.

What he does is

1) He uses an aimbot. Me and many other users went into spectator mode and saw that is guy use only the enforcer and shock fifle. In fact, he one games using only the enforcer and these games are 25 (+) people!

2) He lags, crashes and restarts the server. He'll start laughing and will say "Hahaha server go crashy" Then Boom! The server restarts. Plus he's able to make it lag pretty badly, because I've never lagged on this server, but when he's on forget about it. I have cable and my ping is usually at 70.

3) The server is running the latest UT Pure and CSHP. Everything is updated but yet he was able to get on the server with an aimbot!

The server administration doesn't know what to do. He's stumped...

Any help would be appreciated.

Not really enough information to go on. But since I'm guess this guy is on dsl/cable vs dialup, just ban his IP range at the firewall.

Doesnt sound like a hacker to me, just a cheater. And a bad one at that. Ban the ip, report him to his ISP, and get on with your life. (dont go outside yet, that might be too much of a jump back into reality. I tried it today and almost had a panic attack before I got out the door!)

Thats the thing.. The administrator can not ban this guy. He's able to sneak onto the server and to do what he wants.

Sneak onto the server? Hahahaha, you have a BAD sysadmin then. Ok, first things first -- go find every cheater webpage out there and find all of the latest UT hacks there are (including the anti-anti-hacks). He probably has 1) some scripts that crashes the server, 2) ain aimbot, 3) more wits than the current sysadmin. Check the version of CSHP of what the server is running and what the hacks can hack against and make a recommendation to upgrade the server. Also, wasn't there a bug with UT dedicated (a while back), that would allow crashing of the server? Make sure the latest server is patched to help prevent this.

If the sysadmin is worth his salt, he can find the IP and ban this guy (its all in the logs). If his one IP keeps changing, he's probably using something to get a new IP (DSL, Cable, dialup can all do this). When you get this and see a pattern of IPs, then ban the subnet! Sure, you could affect 255 users, but it prevents that turd from coming in and pissing you guys off.

Last, but not least, what OS is the server running? Linux or Win32? It could be possible these boxes have been compromised and he's simply running something on that local machine to crash it, etc. Checking all security logs would be the best bet to catch this hacker no one seems to be able to stop.

Good advice there, tell someone whose reality is running around with a gun shooting at everything that moves to get a gun.

best thing, let him run his course, don't talk to him, don't taunt, don't complain. he'll soon get bored and leave. best way to beat a haxor is to leave him alone, he'll leave and go bother somebody else. :-D

ya, but the hardcore one's can mask IP's and have dozen of cd key's, the more you try, they more they try. :-/
