A few weeks ago I replaced my distroyed Nokia 6560 with a Motorola RAZR. Up until that time, I'd never had a problem with Cingular of service quality in my area.

Ever since I got the RAZR, I can't dial out or recieve phone calls when I'm near my house - even when my signal strengh is shown as maximum on the phone. I can't call or recieve phone calls at my college either. I had never had a problem with reception with the Nokia in these areas.

So I stopped by the Cingular store I bought the phone at - they told me everything was fine with the phone, and that some areas of the city just don't have good reception.

Does that sound like a load of BS to you?!? At this point - I'm thinking it's the phone....:(

Probably a bad phone. One of the things people say is great about the RAZR is the reception.

I just got one (TMobile), and the receoption is excellent.

I know - that's what I read in all the reviews :( When I do have service - it's perfect. This blows :(

Ok - now I'm thinking that it has to be the phone. I tried calling my voicemail - and got the usual "call failed" message. If I redial multiple times - it'll eventually connect (and the voice quality is perfect).
