Hmmmmm.... New DVD Player or HTIB w/ DVD Player?

Dad was asking what i want for Hanukkah and i was either going to ask for a new dvd player, or some money towards a HTIB (possibly sony's DAV-FR1).

I currently have my klipsch 4.1's running off my tv so i could definately use real surround sound speakers but i dunno if i should just get the dvd player now and get some nice speakers down the line....

If the DVD player and the speakers are in the same price range, then I would get the DVD player. If you're able to ask for something more expensive than the price of a DVD player I'd definitely consider the HTIB.

get that Onkyo HTIB.

sounds pretty nice and beats those other plastic encased speakers, from the other HTIB's.

I second the Onkyo HTIB recommendation. Very good starter HT, just don't pay $500 for it.
