Late at night, can't sleep, tossing around the idea of upgrading/crossgrading to the new macbook.
Currently have a 2.2ghz Macbook (Santa Rosa) w/ 4gb of RAM and a 200gb 7200rpm HD. Its plenty fast except when using iMovie where the effects really make it slow to a crawl, especially when outputting to my 24" LCD. I don't use iMovie all too much right now (just some honeymoon videos), but plan to use it considerably more in the spring when I get a new D90.
I think I can work it where it would basically be a wash price wise, give or take $100. As much as I love my Macbook, some small things bother me about it that make me want to upgrade (slow iMovie, discolored palm rest - though an easy fix, etc)
I like the new aluminum finish considerably more, LED backlit LCD, faster video, multitouch trackpad, etc. Only downside are the two things i'll lose, firewire and 200mhz in the CPU.
What do you think? If all else was equal, should I upgrade?
