That's true... I'm always so anxious to buy, you know? Like it's not going to drop anymore. If you were to buy it now- what do you think your sell price would be?

buy low $10 sell... $12 :) thats just me tho.
But as i said earlier... it's very tempting but they were at their 52 week low late last year.. then in a matter of a month or two they jumped to $14.
So don't hold onto it... unless you don't need that money for more then 1-2 years

I wouldn't. Personally i think Nvidia has lost its leadership position in graphics to ATI.

I'll refer to your sig :D

I don't think ATI has....but they are getting close. Their structure is not all there like Nvidias

I wasn't planning on holding onto it....rather- ride the hype of FX. Then sell :)

I see you are pretty proud of your own ridiculous opinions . . . You did ask for OPINIONS . . . now you don't like the response you got from me.

Well then BUY. It's your money. :p
But Nvidia is going the way of 3DFX and the DODO . . . :Q

$3000 / ($10/share) = 300 shares

300 x $14 = $4200

$4200 - $3000 - $20 = $1180 ... not bad

300 x $8 = $2400

$2400 - $3000 = $(-)600 . . . not good . . . especially when ATI announces the "faster" Radeon 9800Ultra-Pro the same day the NV30 is (finally) "available". . . . but then, it's your money and your opinion that Nvidia is going to do well . . . personally, I hope you do "well" and make a "killing" when your unreal expectations are realized. :)

I made mucho profit off of their stock several years ago.

But they have no potentially big gains in the near future. Their stock price will not explode or anything.

nvidia has lots going for them...the FX isn't one of them. FX is getting its ass kicked. Run a game in FSAA/ansio and it is already beaten by the 9700....then compare the R350...

I dont think its a good idea.
Isnt the R350 supposedly to be released around the time of the FX and for cheaper?

Bear market has always provided good opprtunities for investment, however I don't think Nvidia is one of those opprtunities. If it was me, I would gamble on the stock of United airlines which can be bought for pennies now, and sit in for a long haul. I am pretty sure that they will come out of bankruptcy restructuring in few years and that stock will pay off handsomely. Then again, I am only thinking long-term.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I think you're going to get another chance.

I might be wrong, but I think that the market is gonna slide a bit in the next week. Dow will certainly fall below 8,000 unless some unexpected good news comes out (edit: although I think GW's speech on Tues, if he decides to press hard against Iraq, which I think he will, will have a negative effect on the markets). Nikkei and HSI are already dumping hard this morning. I'd avoid tech stocks right now unless you're shorting. Nvidia especially with all the disappointing news about the GF-FX coming out.
